Originally trained as a jewellery designer my work has gradually evolved to a much larger scale with my original artworks in woven metal and perspex.
Inspired by the theme of journeys, the tracing of a path and reaching for an unknown destination. I like to create in my work a real sense of freedom and movement.
Playing with the contrast between strength and fragility in my choice of materials and subject matter with hundreds of fragile translucent butterfly wings or falling leaves being created in a material known for it's weight and strength in steel.
Each tiny element of my artworks, of which there are hundreds, are hand cut from ultra fine woven metals such as stainless steel, copper and brass with a jeweller's attention to detail. Each element is then gradually put together piece by piece to create a unique multi layered three dimensional artwork.
Every artwork is made to order and I am able to combine your choice of woven metals and various coloured perspex backgrounds into any of the pieces or create a one off commission for a particular space. All artworks are available in an open sided or enclosed perspex frame.
My work is constantly evolving and I will be adding new pieces as I create them.
